The first Migrant Hawker sighting of the year comes from Peter Shaw who spotted a single male at Vale Royal Locks (67F SJ639704).

News from site new to me has come from Derek Hatton who visited Abney Park (88U SJ860890) and found ten species flying. These were Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker, Emperor Dragonfly, Broad-bodied Chaser, Common Darter, Black Darter, Emerald Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, and Azure Damselfly. Derek also saw Ruddy Darter here a few days earlier.

After a gap of twelve years it was a pleasure to receive a record from Hilbre Island (18Y SJ185879) where Colin Millington found Emperor Dragonfly flying over the pond.

Another hot sunny day and there were Southern Hawker and Brown Hawker flying at Macclesfield Riverside Park (97C SJ905753). At Higher Poynton (98L SJ944838) another Brown Hawker was flying in gardens.

On a day out with Richard Gabb we visited a lovely marl pit at Church Minshull (66K SJ645615) and recorded Brown Hawker, Emperor Dragonfly, Four-spotted Chaser, Common Darter, and lots of Ruddy Darter and Emerald Damselfly, with several Common Blue Damselfly and Azure Damselfly.

At Rossmere (88F SJ821811) Richard Gabb found several Black-tailed Skimmer flying, whilst at along the canal at Dunham Massey (78I SJ728874) Alan Davies saw Black-tailed Skimmer and Banded Demoiselle

After a gap of a couple of years I was pleased to see a male Banded Demoiselle on the Bollin at Macclesfield Riverside Park (97C SJ905753).

A couple of Banded Demoiselle were flying in the rain at Adlington (98A SJ903804).

There was a Brown Hawker flying on the Middlewood Way (98L SJ945842) this morning and another, or maybe the same one, flew into my conservatory shortly after.

At Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751) today Pete Leicester found plenty of action with Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker, Emperor Dragonfly, Four-spotted Chaser, Common Darter, Banded Demoiselle, Common Blue Damselfly, Red-eyed Damselfly, and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

A Ruddy Darter was seen at Marbury (67NSJ655761) by Alan Redley. Over at Middlewood (98M SJ947846) there were Azure Damselfly flying.

At Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751) today Alan Redley saw Brown Hawker, Four-spotted Chaser, Ruddy Darter (first of the season) and an ovipositing Emperor Dragonfly. Meanwhile from Delamere (57K SJ542714) Rob McHale reports Black Darter, Southern Hawker, and still masses of Large Red Damselfly.

From Black Lake (57F SJ537709) Janette Renshaw reports seeing Brown Hawker, Four-spotted Chaser, and Emerald Damselfly along with Large Red Damselfly, .Common Blue Damselfly, and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

Rob McHale visited Rixton Claypits (69V SJ687903) today, where there were plenty of Four-spotted Chaser and Emerald Damselfly. Also seen were Brown Hawker, Emperor Dragonfly, Common Darter, Azure Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, and Blue-tailed Damselfly.
