Consett 'B' type (HL 2404/99)

Tishy
In East Yard

The last locomotive to come to Poynton was nicknamed "Tishy" by the locals. This was the name of a racehorse of the period which was noted for crossing its legs as it ran. What this says for the running abilities of the locomotive is left to the imagination. (Hawthorn Leslie 2404/1899) Consett Iron Co 'B' Class noted as dismantled in 1920/21 and the parts loaded into a wagon at Consett 7th January 1921. At work in Poynton by August 1933 it may have been sold to Marlowe of Dukinfield, scrap contractor, some time after January 1936. It was normally used as a shunter at the East Yard.
