Billed as 'the secret depot' the shed at Huang Guo Tun was unlike anything else we saw on the mainline in China. The depot was small and cramped with a straight shed of five roads which was locked up with locomotives dead inside. It was late afternoon when we arrived and the shadows were rapidly lengthening. The cramped nature of the site made photography quite challenging but did yield some good results. In total we saw 18 locomotives here. In this photograph are (left to right) JS No.5138, QJ No.6109, JS No.6465, QJ No.3285 and JS No.6467 |
QJ No.3418 rests in the yard with QJ No 6112 to the left. |
Three QJs, Nos 6112, 3418 and 3455. |
A sharp lookout was necessary in the busy yard as movements were constant. Here QJ No.3455 arrives on shed with accompanying flagman supervising the operation. |
