The Golant kiln seems to be in good condition although it is somewhat anonymous as the draw tunnel is hidden from view by what appears to be the corrugated iron roofed lime shed alongside. The kiln structure is well covered by ivy. Lime was taken to the top of the kiln via a steep ramp that runs up behind The Boathouse Cottage. This kiln is an important reminder of the importance of the lime trade in coastal villages around Cornwall. |
