Andy Harmer spotted a teneral female Large Red Damselfly today at Little Budworth Common (56Y SJ585660).

The emergence of Large Red Damselfly continues with one teneral insect seen by Richard Buxton at Moore Nature Reserve (58S SJ578858) and several more by Ian Waller at Rixton Clay Pits (69V SJ685907).

Sunny days have brought the season on rather earlier than in 2008. Today Barry Shaw spotted a single teneral Large Red Damselfly at Danes Moss (97A SJ907705) and Bryan Roberts saw 50+ individuals at Shemmy Moss (56Z SJ595688). Two more individuals were seen at Sound Common (64J SJ621481) by Richard Pennell.
