I wandered over to Dairyhouse Meadow (67S SJ664757) where the sunshine had brought out plenty of Brown Hawker, Migrant Hawker and Common Darter. There was also a single Common Blue Damselfly. There were also plenty of Migrant Hawker in the adjacent Marbury Park.

Alan Redley found single female Banded Demoiselle and Migrant Hawker at Dairyhouse Meadow (67S SJ664757). At Churton Marlpits (45I SJ430565) Richard Gabb found plenty of Common Darter with a few Migrant Hawker and Brown Hawker with a single female Southern Hawker.

Today on the pond at Stock-in-Hey Farm, Mobberley (88B SJ800826) Barry Shaw found Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker, and 30+ Emerald Damselfly. At Stapeley Water Gardens (65Q SJ663513) Bob Bradshaw found a male Southern Hawker.

On Melchett Mere at Tatton Park (78K SJ788811) Richard Gabb spotted Migrant Hawker and Emerald Damselfly this morning.

At Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751) Mat Bingham saw Southern Hawker and Emerald Damselfly in addition to the species seen there on the 15th.

I hadn't personally recorded any Southern Hawker this year, but today there was a nice brightly coloured male feeding alongside the Bollin on Macclesfield Riverside Park (97C SJ911748).

Back on the moors in Sutton (97Q SJ9670) there was lots of Common Hawker action and a couple Common Darter in addition to the numerous Black Darter and Emerald Damselfly with a few Common Blue Damselfly. In the Bollin Valley (88B SJ812823) Peter Hugo saw Brown Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Common Darter, and was surprised to see a male Common Hawker too.

A fairly sunny day and Paul Hill and Jeff Clarke headed for Shemmy Moss (56Z SJ595688) where they found three hawkers - Common Hawker, Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker - Black Darter, Emerald Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, and Blue-tailed Damselfly. Afterwards at Hogshead Lane (56K SJ585690) there were Ruddy Darter. Meanwhile Mat Bingham was at Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751) and saw Brown Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Common Darter, and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

An exciting find today when Trevor Davies saw a male Golden-ringed Dragonfly on the Forge Brook adjacent to Neumann's Flash (67S SJ665756). This is the first confirmed sighting of this species in Cheshire away from the Dee.

Meanwhile, on the moors in Sutton (97Q SJ9670) there were plenty of Black Darter and Emerald Damselfly with a few Common Blue Damselfly. I also saw several Common Hawker including a couple of ovipositing females. At Chester Zoo (47A SJ4170) Paul Hill saw Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker, and Common Darter.

Chris Storey reports plenty of Emerald Damselfly and Common Blue Damselfly at Tatton Mere (78K SJ753809). At Stapeley Water Gardens (65Q SJ663513) Bob Bradshaw saw Emperor Dragonfly, Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker, Common Darter, Azure Damselfly, and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

Richard Gabb went in search of Black Darter at Danes Moss (97A SJ907706) and found lots of them flying there.

Sightings at Stapeley Water Gardens (65Q SJ663513) by Bob Bradshaw were a few Brown Hawker, Emperor Dragonfly and Common Darter. Over at Ness Gardens (37C SJ304753) Anthony Gittens found Common Darter.
